The craft workshop was created in 1993 in the village of Blinisht, in the district of Lezha. The first to have had the idea was Mrs. Tereze Gega, who thought that this particular tradition of the loom grown in the Zadrima area could be practiced not only as a habit but as a profession capable of generating incomes.
Mrs. Tereze's long working experience and talent have allowed her to continually expand the range of products offered.
For more than 20 years, more than 50 women have worked at this center at different times. About 100 women have been trained in the field of craftsmanship and tailoring.
To preserve and inherit the handicraft tradition by considering it not only as a cultural heritage to be promoted but also as an important local value that can generate income and improve the quality of life for women and girls who apply it.
